The Office of the US Trade Rep­re­sen­ta­tive (USTR), in its annu­al report issued in Wash­ing­ton on Thurs­day, said it had put Indone­sia back on its “pri­or­i­ty watch list” of intel­lec­tu­al prop­er­ty vio­la­tors, prompt­ing Jakar­ta to respond with claims of unfair­ness.

I’m deeply dis­ap­point­ed,” said Andy Som­meng, direc­tor gen­er­al of intel­lec­tu­al prop­er­ty rights at the Min­istry of Jus­tice and Human Rights. “It’s like our efforts in pro­tect­ing intel­lec­tu­al prop­er­ty rights are ignored.”
